Article Withdrawal Policy

TEJAS Journal of Technologies and Humanitarian Science (TJTHS) is committed to maintaining a transparent, ethical, and efficient editorial process throughout manuscript submission and publication. The journal recognizes that, under certain circumstances, a manuscript may need to be withdrawn before publication. This policy establishes the principles and procedures governing article withdrawal to ensure fairness, accountability, and the integrity of the scholarly publishing process.

Purpose of the Policy

The purpose of this policy is to define the circumstances under which manuscripts may be withdrawn before publication and to provide clear guidance for authors and the Editorial Office regarding the withdrawal process. The policy supports responsible editorial management while protecting the integrity of scholarly communication.

Scope of the Policy

This policy applies to manuscripts that are under initial editorial assessment, peer review, author revision, accepted for publication, or awaiting final publication. Once an article has been formally published, post-publication concerns will be addressed under the journal's applicable policies on corrections, retractions, or other editorial actions.

Author-Initiated Withdrawal

Authors may request withdrawal of a manuscript before publication by submitting a written request to the Editorial Office. The request should include a clear explanation for the withdrawal. The corresponding author is responsible for confirming that all co-authors have been informed of and agree with the withdrawal request before it is processed.

Editorial Withdrawal

The Editorial Office may withdraw a manuscript before publication if significant concerns arise regarding originality, research integrity, publication ethics, authorship, legal compliance, copyright, or other issues that prevent responsible publication. Such decisions will be made objectively, fairly, and on the basis of available evidence.

Acceptable Grounds for Withdrawal

A manuscript may be considered for withdrawal when substantial errors are identified before publication, duplicate submission is confirmed, authorship disputes cannot be resolved, ethical approval is found to be inadequate, legal or copyright issues arise, or other significant circumstances make publication inappropriate.

Withdrawal Assessment Process

Every withdrawal request or editorial concern will undergo an impartial assessment by the Editorial Office. Authors may be asked to provide clarification, supporting documentation, or additional information when necessary. Where appropriate, the journal may consult independent subject experts or relevant institutions before reaching a final decision.

Author Responsibilities

Authors are expected to submit manuscripts responsibly and request withdrawal only when justified by legitimate academic, ethical, or legal reasons. Authors should cooperate fully during the editorial assessment and respond promptly to requests for clarification or supporting information.

Editorial Decision

Following completion of the assessment, the Editorial Office will communicate its decision to the corresponding author. The decision will be based on the available evidence, the journal's editorial policies, and internationally recognized principles of responsible scholarly publishing.

Record Management

The journal maintains confidential records of manuscript withdrawal requests and related editorial decisions for administrative and publication management purposes. Such records are handled responsibly and are accessible only to authorized editorial personnel.

Policy Review

TJTHS may review and revise this policy periodically to reflect developments in publication ethics, editorial best practices, and international scholarly publishing standards. Updated versions of the policy will support the journal's continued commitment to responsible editorial governance.

Commitment to Ethical Publishing

TEJAS Journal of Technologies and Humanitarian Science (TJTHS) is dedicated to maintaining a fair, transparent, and ethical publication process. Through this Article Withdrawal Policy, the journal supports responsible manuscript management, protects the integrity of scholarly communication, and promotes confidence in the quality and credibility of published research.
