Authorship Criteria
TEJAS Journal of Technologies and Humanitarian Science (TJTHS) values transparency, fairness, and accountability in scholarly authorship. Authorship is a recognition of meaningful intellectual involvement in research and carries both academic credit and professional responsibility. The journal expects every listed author to have made a genuine contribution to the research and to uphold the highest standards of research integrity throughout the publication process.
Introduction
Authorship should accurately reflect substantial academic participation in the development of research and the preparation of the manuscript. Every individual identified as an author is expected to contribute intellectually to the work and accept responsibility for the integrity and reliability of the published article.
Principles of Authorship
To qualify for authorship, contributors should have participated meaningfully in one or more of the following activities:
- Developing the research concept, objectives, or study design.
- Conducting research activities or generating research data.
- Analyzing or interpreting research findings.
- Preparing the manuscript or providing substantial scholarly revisions.
- Reviewing and approving the final version of the manuscript before submission.
Author Responsibilities
All authors are expected to:
- Ensure the originality and authenticity of the submitted work.
- Verify the accuracy of research findings, references, and supporting information.
- Disclose financial support, funding sources, and potential conflicts of interest.
- Comply with applicable ethical and legal requirements relevant to the research.
- Cooperate with the Editorial Office when clarification, correction, or additional documentation is required.
- Support the integrity of the published scholarly record.
Responsibilities of the Corresponding Author
The corresponding author serves as the primary point of communication between the journal and all co-authors throughout the editorial and publication process.
- Coordinate communication with the Editorial Office.
- Confirm that every listed author satisfies the journal's authorship requirements.
- Ensure that all authors have reviewed and approved the final manuscript.
- Provide accurate author names, affiliations, and contact information.
- Manage manuscript revisions and communicate editorial decisions to all contributors.
Acknowledgment of Contributions
Individuals whose contributions are limited to technical assistance, administrative support, language editing, funding acquisition, or general supervision should not be listed as authors. Such contributions may be recognized appropriately in the Acknowledgments section with the individual's permission.
Changes to Authorship
Requests to add, remove, or rearrange authors after manuscript submission must include a clear explanation and written agreement from all affected authors. The journal will evaluate each request carefully before approving any modification. Changes requested after publication will be considered only in exceptional circumstances and may require an editorial correction.
Unacceptable Authorship Practices
TJTHS does not permit authorship practices that compromise academic integrity. These include, but are not limited to:
- Listing individuals who have not made meaningful scholarly contributions.
- Excluding contributors who satisfy the journal's authorship requirements.
- Misrepresenting the nature or extent of individual contributions.
- Using authorship to obtain personal, institutional, or professional advantage without legitimate academic involvement.
Where evidence of authorship misconduct is identified, the journal may conduct an editorial investigation and implement appropriate actions in accordance with its publication ethics policies.
Commitment to Responsible Authorship
TEJAS Journal of Technologies and Humanitarian Science (TJTHS) promotes responsible authorship practices that recognize genuine scholarly contribution, encourage transparency, and strengthen confidence in academic publishing. Submission of a manuscript confirms that all listed authors satisfy the journal's authorship requirements and accept collective responsibility for the integrity, accuracy, and reliability of the work submitted for publication.
